In response to the news that at least 100 Chechnyan gay men have been kidnapped, tortured, and maybe even murdered; Rainbow Railroad of Canada has teamed up with Russian LGBT Network to help LGBTQ persons flee persecution in Chechnya and Russia based on their sexual orientation.
First Street Opera and St. James Episcopal Church of Fremont will be hosting a benefit concert for Rainbow Railroad and Russian LGBT Network to raise funds for the aid of these persecuted men.
We'll be hosting a night of your favorite arias, duets and ensembles from the opera repertoire. We are very grateful to all the singers and our accompanist, Bruce Olstad who are all volunteering their time. We are also grateful to St. James who is donating the venue. ALL MONEY will go 100% to the cause!
